Do you believe we can speak to spirits? Can we connect to a soul who is no longer in their body? I have had experiences like this for over 30 years. People who have died or are in a coma have reached over to convey messages to me, when it would serve a purpose. I have learned to discern the source of the energy and messages I experience.
Recently I experienced a powerful connection I want to share with you here. I was preparing to facilitate a memorial service. The man we were gathering to celebrate was the 46 year old partner of a friend’s niece. I’ll call him Jay. When my friend asked if I might support her niece Kay, I tuned in to Jay’s spirit. I felt his presence during my meditation. He shared some words and images with me then, so I agreed to help his partner.
As I was contemplating and creating Jay’s memorial service, I asked him if he had a message for the group who would gather to celebrate his life in a few weeks. I was sitting on a beach in Hawaii recording my thoughts when I asked this question. Suddenly my whole demeanor changed. My throat tightened. My eyes filled and my heart recalled asking my brother Chuck the same question after he died in 2018.
I began to hear and feel this message, “Love one another. Love one another and be kind.” I continued speaking his words through my tears, until I felt his energy leave. At one point I heard the music of a song by the Beatles, “Love is all you need.” At the end I saw an image of a painting. He seemed to be sending information and energy in words, music and images.
The painting appeared in response to my question, “Do you have a special message for your partner Kay?” I saw an acrylic painting with layers of colors, one on top of the other. Nothing was erased, just added to. It seemed he was inviting her to consider how love is like a painting with layers and layers of colors. If she feels love for another, this new experience does not take away from the love they shared. Our love is never erased, just added to, layers and layers of LOVE.
Could I share this profound message at the memorial service? My friend, Kay’s aunt, said, “It might be too disturbing for some people.” Another friend said, “It is so powerful. You must share every word.”
The words and consciousness continued to resonate in my heart, almost haunting me, until I agreed to find a way to share the message while honoring people’s different beliefs. I suggested these words had a resonance with the wisdom of Buddha and the love of Christ. I also said, “to me they felt like they came from Jay’s heart to all of our hearts.”
This is what I heard:
Love one another.
Love one another and Be kind.
Whenever there is an opportunity,
Forgive other people in your heart,
Even if you can’t do it in person.
Do not harbor anger or resentment.
Look for Love and you will find it
Love is everywhere.
In beauty. In nature. In animals.
In you.
Love one another and be kind
But also be kind to yourself.
Don’t be afraid to say things
That other people can’t understand right now.
They may understand later.
Forgive others
And forgive yourself in your heart.
You did the best you could.
Love one another and be kind.
Then I heard the words “Love is all you need” and the melody of the Beatles.
I was imaginging Kay’s loss, so I asked, “What about heart break?” He replied, That’s Love. It’s painful but it’s love.
He continued, Assume nothing.
Do not assume you understand what it’s like to be another person.
Trust your experience.
Look for the light in their eyes.
I asked if he had a message for his partner. I heard,
Feel, feel the love in your heart.
I saw the image of a painting and heard,
Love is a quality, a consciousness like a color on a canvas
so that whatever you paint over it, it’s still there.
Whatever she paints over our love,
Whenever she feels love, it’s like adding a color.
Then I saw a blazing white light and all I felt was Love.
Now a week after the service, I consider how these words came after Jay had been away from his human life for 3 months. It was as if his consciousness had merged back into his original divine nature. What do we on Earth need to know “from the other side?” What did Jay want to share to help us navigate the challenges and opportunities in our lives and grow as humans?
Love one another and be kind.
Forgive other people and yourself.
Trust yourself.
Thank you, dear soul. Thank you.
