I had a most amazing experience recently.  I was preparing to facilitate a memorial service for the partner of a friend’s niece.  When my friend asked if I might support her niece, I tuned in to his spirit.  I’ll call him Jay.  I have connected with people in comas or on the other side for over 30 years and can discern the Source of the energy and messages I experience.  I felt Jay’s presence in meditation, and he shared some words and images with me then, so I agreed to help his partner whom I’ll call Kay.

As I prepared to facilitate Jay’s memorial service, I asked him if he had a message for the group who would gather to celebrate his life in a few weeks.  I was sitting on a beach in Hawaii recording my thoughts when I asked this question.  Suddenly my whole demeanor changed.  My throat tightened.  My eyes filled and my heart recalled a similar experience with my brother Chuck after he died in 2018.

I began to hear and feel this message, “Love one another.  Love one another and be kind.”  I continued speaking his words through my tears, until I felt his energy leave.   At one point I heard a song by the Beatles, “Love is all you need.”  At the end I saw an image of a painting.  He seemed to be sending information as energy and I received it in images, words and music that each held a much larger meaning.

The image of the painting came after I asked for a message for Kay.  I saw this painting done with acrylics, painted with layers of colors, one on top of the other.  Nothing was erased, just added to.  It seemed he was inviting us to consider how love is like a painting with layers and layers of colors.  The love we share with people is never erased, just as the person never is gone from our hearts.   Our Love is simply added to, layers and layers of LOVE.

The message I heard was clear and precise and powerful.  Could I share this at the memorial service?  Would that be of service to that community of mixed spiritual beliefs?  When I asked my friends, a few said, “Oh no, it would be too disturbing for some people.”   Another said, “It is so powerful.  You must read every word.”

The words and consciousness continued to resonate in my heart, almost haunting me, until I agreed to find a way to share the message while honoring people’s beliefs.  So in the service, I said some words kept coming to me as I prepared for our gathering.  I suggested their resonance with the wisdom of Buddha and love of Christ and said, to me they felt like they came from Jay’s heart to all of our hearts.

This is what I heard:

Love one another.

Love one another and Be kind.

Whenever there is an opportunity,

Forgive other people in your heart,

Even if you can’t do it in person.

Do not harbor anger or resentment.

Look for Love and you will find it

Love is everywhere.

In beauty.  In nature.  In animals.

In you.

Love one another and be kind

But also be kind to yourself.

Don’t be afraid to say things

That other people can’t understand right now.

They may understand later.

Forgive others

And forgive yourself in your heart.

You did the best you could.

Love one another and be kind.

Then I heard the Beatles song, “Love is all we need.”

Then I asked, “What about heart break?”  He replied,

That’s Love.  It’s painful but it’s love.

He continued,

Assume nothing.

Do not assume you understand what it’s like to be another person.

Trust your experience.

Look for the light in their eyes.

I asked if he had a message for his partner.  I heard,

Feel, feel the love in your heart.

I saw the image of a painting and heard,

Love is a quality, a consciousness like a color on a canvas

so that whatever you paint over it, it’s still there.

Whatever she paints over our love,

Whenever she feels love,

 it’s like adding a color.

And all I see is blazing white Light and all I feel is Love.

Now a week after the service, I consider how these words came after Jay had been away from his human life for 3 months. It was as if his consciousness had merged back into his original divine nature.  What do we on Earth need to know “from the other side?”  What did Jay want to share as the most important guidance?  What advice did he have for us to navigate the challenges and opportunities to grow as humans?

Like others before him have said, Love one another and be kind.  Forgive other people and yourself.  Trust yourself.

Thank you, dear soul.  Thank you.
